Question 1

How quickly can you respond to a pest problem on the South Coast?

Accepted Answer

We offer same-day pest control services across the South Coast for urgent situations. If you call before midday, we can almost always attend the same day. For non-urgent bookings, we typically have availability within 24–48 hours. We cover Wollongong, Nowra, Kiama, Shellharbour, Ulladulla, Batemans Bay, Berry, and Gerringong.

Question 2

Are your pest controllers licensed in NSW?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All our technicians hold the required NSW pest management licences and are fully insured. We operate in full compliance with Australian pest control regulations and use only products registered with the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA). You can ask to see our licence details at any time.

Question 3

Do you provide unmarked vehicles?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. We understand that pest issues can be sensitive, especially for businesses like restaurants, hotels, or childcare centres. Simply request a discreet visit when you call and we will arrive in an unmarked vehicle in plain uniforms — no logos, no signs.

Question 4

Do you cover both residential and commercial properties?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We treat homes, rental properties, strata complexes, restaurants, cafes, warehouses, offices, and other commercial premises across the South Coast NSW. Commercial clients can also arrange ongoing service contracts with regular inspections and compliance documentation.

Question 5

How much does pest control cost on the South Coast?

Accepted Answer

Pricing depends on the type of pest, size of the property, and severity of the infestation. We provide free quotes over the phone — call us on 0425 232 461 and we can give you a clear price before any work begins. We don't charge call-out fees for quotes.

Question 6

Do you offer a guarantee on your treatments?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We stand behind our work. Most treatments come with a follow-up guarantee period — if the pest problem persists after treatment within the guarantee window, we'll return at no additional charge. The specific guarantee period depends on the treatment type and pest species.

Question 7

How does cockroach treatment work?

Accepted Answer

We use a combination of targeted gel baiting and residual spray treatment. Gel bait is applied in small amounts to harbourage areas — inside cupboard hinges, behind appliances, under sinks — where cockroaches shelter and feed. The bait works through secondary kill: cockroaches consume it, return to the nest, and others in the colony consume the contaminated faeces or carcasses, eliminating the nest from the inside. Residual spray is applied to perimeter areas, wall junctions, and entry points to kill any cockroaches that move through treated surfaces.

Question 8

How long does cockroach treatment take?

Accepted Answer

A standard residential cockroach treatment takes around 30–60 minutes depending on the size of the property. Commercial kitchens and larger premises may take longer. You can usually remain in the property during treatment, though we'll ask you to keep clear of treated areas for a short period while products dry.

Question 9

How long does it take to see results after cockroach treatment?

Accepted Answer

With gel baiting, you may see increased cockroach activity for the first 24–72 hours as they come out to feed on the bait. This is completely normal and is a sign the treatment is working. Activity typically drops off significantly within 1–2 weeks and is usually eliminated within 3–4 weeks for a full colony knockdown.

Question 10

What type of cockroaches do you treat?

Accepted Answer

We treat all cockroach species common to the South Coast NSW, including German cockroaches (the most common in kitchens and food premises), Australian cockroaches, American cockroaches, Smoky Brown cockroaches, and Oriental cockroaches. Each species has slightly different behaviour and harbourage preferences, so our approach is tailored accordingly.

Question 11

Do I need to prepare my kitchen before cockroach treatment?

Accepted Answer

Yes — a small amount of preparation makes the treatment significantly more effective. Before we arrive, please clear under-sink areas, remove items from lower kitchen cupboards, and pull the fridge and dishwasher away from the wall if possible. We'll advise you of anything else needed when you book.

Question 12

Why do I have cockroaches even though my home is clean?

Accepted Answer

Cockroaches are not exclusively a sign of poor hygiene — they're opportunists looking for warmth, moisture, and food sources. In South Coast properties they commonly enter via grocery bags, second-hand appliances, shared walls in apartment buildings, or gaps around plumbing. German cockroaches in particular can establish in immaculate kitchens. Our treatment addresses the colony regardless of how the infestation started.

Question 13

What spiders do you treat on the South Coast?

Accepted Answer

We treat all spider species found across the South Coast NSW, with a particular focus on medically significant species: Redback spiders, Sydney Funnel-web spiders (found in the Illawarra and surrounding ranges), White-tail spiders, and Black house spiders. We also treat nuisance species such as Daddy long-legs and Huntsman spiders if they're becoming a problem inside the home.

Question 14

How does spider treatment work?

Accepted Answer

We apply a residual insecticide spray to all webs, harbourage areas, and spider entry points — eaves, window frames, door frames, fences, letterboxes, and garden structures. The treatment kills spiders on contact and leaves a residual barrier that continues to kill spiders that cross treated surfaces. We also manually remove visible webs and egg sacs during the visit.

Question 15

How often should I get spider treatment?

Accepted Answer

For ongoing protection, we recommend a spider spray every 6–12 months. Properties bordering bushland or with large gardens — common across much of the South Coast — tend to see more spider pressure and benefit from biannual treatments. One-off treatments are also available if you have a specific concern.

Question 16

Are Funnel-web spiders common in the South Coast area?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Sydney Funnel-web spiders are found throughout the Illawarra and escarpment areas, including in suburban Wollongong, Kiama, and surrounding regions. They prefer cool, moist habitats such as garden rockeries, mulched garden beds, and under logs. If you see a large, dark, aggressive spider on the South Coast, do not approach it — call us and we'll identify and safely remove it.

Question 17

How do I know if I have rats or mice?

Accepted Answer

Common signs include droppings (rat droppings are larger — around 15–20mm; mouse droppings are smaller — 3–6mm), gnaw marks on food packaging or woodwork, scratching sounds in walls or ceilings at night, grease smear marks along skirting boards, or visible burrows in the garden. If you're hearing activity at night, contact us promptly — rodent populations grow quickly.

Question 18

How does rodent treatment work?

Accepted Answer

We use a combination of tamper-resistant bait stations placed in key areas (along walls, in roof voids, under floors, and in external harbourage areas) and proofing advice to block entry points. Bait stations are safer than loose baiting as they prevent access by children and non-target animals. We also identify how rodents are entering the property and advise on structural proofing to prevent reinfestation.

Question 19

Is rodent baiting safe around my pets?

Accepted Answer

We use tamper-resistant, lockable bait stations that prevent pets from accessing the bait directly. However, secondary poisoning is a risk if a pet consumes a poisoned rodent. We'll discuss placement strategies and bait options with you during the visit to minimise any risk to your animals. In households with free-roaming pets, we can use non-toxic mechanical options as part of the treatment.

Question 20

How long does rat and mice treatment take to work?

Accepted Answer

Rodents typically begin consuming bait within a few days of placement. You'll usually see a noticeable reduction in activity within 1–2 weeks and full knockdown within 3–4 weeks, depending on the size of the population. We recommend a follow-up inspection to check bait consumption and confirm the treatment has been effective.

Question 21

Are termites a problem on the South Coast NSW?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Termite pressure is significant across the South Coast, particularly in Nowra, Berry, the Shoalhaven hinterland, and areas adjacent to native bushland. The warm, humid coastal climate and surrounding eucalyptus forests create ideal conditions for several destructive termite species, including Coptotermes acinaciformis — Australia's most destructive termite. Annual termite inspections are strongly recommended for all South Coast properties.

Question 22

What does a termite inspection involve?

Accepted Answer

A thorough termite inspection covers all accessible areas of the property — subfloor, roof void, interior walls, exterior perimeter, fencing, and any timber structures in the garden. We use moisture meters and thermal imaging to detect activity behind walls and in concealed areas. After the inspection, you'll receive a written report detailing any findings, risk factors, and recommendations.

Question 23

What should I do if I find termites in my home?

Accepted Answer

Do not disturb them. Avoid breaking open the area, spraying them with insecticide, or attempting DIY treatment — disturbing a termite colony can cause them to scatter to other parts of the property, making treatment more difficult and expensive. Call us immediately on 0425 232 461 and we'll arrange an urgent inspection.

Question 24

How do you remove a wasp nest?

Accepted Answer

We treat the nest directly with a fast-acting dust or liquid insecticide, which is carried back into the nest by returning workers and kills the colony within 24–48 hours. We treat nests in roof voids, wall cavities, garden structures, and in-ground nests. Treatment is carried out in full protective gear and is not something we'd recommend attempting yourself — European wasp nests can contain tens of thousands of wasps and are highly aggressive when disturbed.

Question 25

What types of wasps are common on the South Coast?

Accepted Answer

The most common and problematic species is the European wasp (Vespula germanica), which builds papery nests in roof voids, wall cavities, and in the ground. Paper wasps (Polistes species) build smaller open-comb nests under eaves, in sheds, and in garden plants. Both species will sting if the nest is disturbed and can sting multiple times.

Question 26

Do you remove bee swarms?

Accepted Answer

We can assess bee swarms and treat established bee colonies in roof voids or wall cavities where they pose a safety risk. Where possible, we prefer to refer swarms of native or honey bees to local beekeepers for relocation. Call us to discuss the situation and we'll advise the best course of action.

Question 27

How do I know if I have bedbugs?

Accepted Answer

Tell-tale signs include small blood spots or dark faecal staining on your mattress or bedding, a sweet musty odour in the bedroom, tiny shed skins around the mattress seams and bed frame, and of course bite marks on the skin — typically in a line or cluster on exposed areas. Bedbugs are nocturnal and hide in mattress seams, bed frames, skirting boards, and behind wallpaper during the day.

Question 28

How does bedbug treatment work?

Accepted Answer

We use a targeted residual chemical treatment applied to all harbourage areas — mattress seams (where safe to do so), bed frames, skirting boards, furniture joints, and wall junctions. In severe cases, a follow-up treatment may be needed after 10–14 days to catch any newly hatched eggs. We'll also advise you on preparation steps and post-treatment protocols to maximise the treatment's effectiveness.

Question 29

Are bedbug treatments discreet?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We understand bedbug infestations can feel embarrassing — though they are not related to hygiene and are a growing problem globally. We arrive in unmarked vehicles if requested, and our technicians are discreet and non-judgmental. We regularly treat holiday rental properties, hotels, and student accommodation across the South Coast.

Question 30

Do I need to leave my home during pest treatment?

Accepted Answer

For most standard treatments — cockroach gel baiting, spider spray, ant treatment — you do not need to vacate. We'll advise you to stay out of rooms being treated until sprays are dry (usually 30–60 minutes). For more intensive treatments such as flea fumigation or certain bedbug treatments, you may need to vacate for a few hours. We'll always give you clear instructions before beginning work.

Question 31

Are pest control treatments safe for children and pets?

Accepted Answer

Yes, when applied correctly by a licensed technician. We use products registered for residential use and follow all label requirements regarding re-entry periods. We'll always tell you what products we're using and how long to keep children and pets away from treated areas. If you have specific concerns — newborns, pets with health conditions — let us know when you book and we'll adjust our approach accordingly.

Question 32

How should I prepare for a pest control visit?

Accepted Answer

Preparation depends on the treatment type — we'll advise you specifically when you book. As a general rule: clear under-sink areas for cockroach treatment, vacuum thoroughly before flea treatment, trim back garden growth away from the house perimeter for general pest spray, and ensure we have access to roof voids and subfloor areas for termite inspections.

Question 33

What areas do you cover on the South Coast NSW?

Accepted Answer

We cover the entire South Coast NSW region including Wollongong, Nowra, Kiama, Shellharbour, Ulladulla, Batemans Bay, Berry, Gerringong, and all surrounding suburbs and towns. If you're unsure whether we cover your area, call us on 0425 232 461 and we'll confirm.

Question 34

Do you service rural and acreage properties?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We regularly treat rural properties, hobby farms, and acreage lots across the Shoalhaven and Illawarra hinterland. Rural properties often face different pest pressures — higher rodent activity, termite risk from surrounding bushland, snake-attracting rodent populations — and our technicians are experienced in assessing and treating these environments.
